I had this DVD player in black, purchased from a local store. After about a year and a half, the unit died right in the middle of playing a DVD. Perhaps two months before its death, the player showed signs of failing–it would not power on despite being plugged in to a reliable outlet. The first three or four times this happened, the problem was solved by unplugging/replugging. None of that has worked this time and the player is finally dead (and almost took a disc from the public library with it). I had to unscrew the thing and take the top cover off to retrieve the library’s disc because it seems that there is no emergency manual opening method (i.e. the paperclip-powered way to open a computer’s optical drive). I would not recommend buying this product. If you have this player already and it starts to fail, stop using it immediately to save yourself the trouble of trying to retrieve a trapped disc.

Bought this dvd player with matching television for my daughter’s first christmas with 1-2 months, it started freezing up and the dvd won’t come out, it also makes loud buzzing and knocking noises. Sometimes if your lucky you can watch 1 dvd every once in a while, then it starts freezing again. Save your money

After just under four months of infrequent use, the DVD player stopped reading discs, or rather it tries reading them, and then spews them back out. So, I would say this is a good television set but the DVD player is only temporary. Fortunately, it does have A/V and component inputs, so a functioning DVD player can be fed into it.

One drawback to the picture, however, is that there does not appear to be a way to adjust for different aspect ratios; it automatically stretches or squishes everything to fill its screen, even when the DVD player worked.

If you are searching online for a pink DVD player, you will find that there are plenty of options. But if you go to a department or electronics store near your home, you will find that the selection is much more limited. In the past few years, manufacturers have gotten much, much better about providing true options for the color and style of home appliances and electronics. DVD players were once available only in black, then black and silver, then black, silver, and white.

Now there are a range of other colors available. But because pink is not something that suits everyone, it can be hard to find what you are looking for if you want to buy your DVD player in person.

Searching for specific manufacturers who you know produce pink DVD players can be a great way of locating the best product for you, and getting it at the best price.

Below are listed some of the leading brands that do produce pink DVD players. They are divided according to the style of DVD player that they offer, so that you can quickly isolate exactly what you’re looking for. (This is by no means an exhaustive list of pink DVD manufacturers, but it is nonetheless a good starting point.)

Standard Pink DVD Players (for use in a home entertainment system):

Memorex

Curtis

Starlite

Nextplay

iView

Portable Pink DVD players (some of these are for kids specifically, while others are more general and suitable for adults. Check out the styles yourself to decide what you like):

Sony

Polaroid

Memorex

Fisher-Price

Philips

GPX

Insignia

The last category of pink DVD players is a bit different, since it’s not a DVD player alone. But the brand “FAVI” actually manufacturers a 26-inch hot pink flat screen LCD HDTV with a built in DVD player:

As you can see, the leading brands producing pink DVD players are the leading brands producing DVD players and consumer electronics in general. This is good, because it means you can find a trusted brand, the brand you prefer, and then choose a product that fits your visual style, as well.

This may surprise you, but pink DVD players are actually much easier to get a hold of than you might think. Certainly, it has really been in just the past few years that electronics have started to come in a variety of colors. Children’s toys have always been this way, so of course portable DVD players intended for kids (to use while on a long car trip, etc.) come in many shades of pink. But pink is being reclaimed, and it is now a highly acceptable color for adult women (and even men) to wear and enjoy.

Accordingly, our electronics now come in pink, as well. And this is a great thing for people who want to put a little color in their life. But how do you go about finding a pink DVD player?

Well, you know that walking through a department store or even an electronics store will not yield much in the way of bold colors. Even though there are more colored electronics available than ever before, the vast majority of in-store displays (and in those in stock on the back shelves) will be, predictably, black, silver, or maybe white if you are lucky.

Finding a pink DVD player is much, much easier if you look online. You will find that pink DVD players come in several different styles (including portable DVD players, standard entertainment system style DVD players, and even large flat screen HDTV LCD screens with a DVD player built in).

Among those three main categories, you will be able to pick from a number of different models, sizes, specifications, manufacturers and, of course, shades. And while walking through an electronics store may lead you to believe that none of the reputable manufacturers of entertainment electronics produce pink DVD players, this is not true. They’re just not on display in the store.

In fact, Sony, Polaroid, Philips, and Memorex are just a few of the brands that make pink DVD players for you to buy. This means that you don’t have to sacrifice features, reliability, and quality to get style. With pink DVD players, you can have them all in the same package.

Are you in the market for a pink DVD player? Get ready to have fun. Shopping for home electronics can be a bit overwhelming, but when you know from the outset that you want a specifically pink DVD player, it’s a lot easier to compare your options and figure out what best meets your needs, style, and budget.

First of all, you need to decide what style of DVD player you are looking for. “Pink” is not descriptive enough for this stage of the buying process.

Do you want a DVD player that functions as a component of your home entertainment system? This will have a drawer for a CD, buttons for operation, a remote control and remote input device, and jacks and wires to attach the player to the screen and speakers you’re using to watch your movies.

Do you want a portable DVD player? These are designed for stand-alone use and almost always fold down just like a laptop. The difference is there is no computer inside; just a playing mechanism. This is excellent for travel and for kids to use on long car rides. Some are impressively tiny.

Do you want a pink DVD player built into a large flat screen? FAVI makes a 26-inch hot pink LCD HDTV screen with a DVD player built in.

Each of these different styles comes with a different price tag:

The standard DVD player will cost like most at home DVD players, between $50-$100.

The portable DVD player can range anywhere from $75-$250. But for most people, a pink compact DVD player in the range of $100-$150 is more than sufficient for their needs.

The higher end, larger, and more high function pink DVD players, such as the 26 inch FAVI flat screen HDTV with a built in DVD player costs more, generally $350 and up.

So of course, how much you spend depends on you budget, and even more on how you plan to use your pink personal DVD player. Whether at home or on the go, if you look around you should have no trouble finding a pink DVD player that perfectly suits you.

Have you seen a pink DVD player? Ten years ago, this is not something you would have expected to be available, but now there are dozens of different styles and sizes to choose from.

Pink DVD players are likely to appeal to, of course, someone who likes pink. In general, that person will probably fall into one of four categories:

Children (often young girls, but pink accents are increasingly popular in men’s clothing and boy’s toys, as well).

Teenagers and young adults (think college students decorating a dorm room)

Fashionistas (bold, funky colors can be a flashy accent in any modern décor)

People who just like the color (but may not want something quite as bold and bright as the ‘fashionista’ does)

From there, it is important to note that pink DVD players come in the same styles and configurations as other DVD players, mainly:

Standard (for use with a TV / entertainment system, etc.)

Portable (for use in travel, on car trips, etc.)

Built into larger appliances (like the FAVI flat screen television)

As you might expect, while there is quite a bit of selection, pink DVD players don’t offer you the same range of options and specifications as DVD players in standard colors but you will still be able to record and play blank DVD media. The number of models that come in pink are somewhat limited versus those available in, say, black. But more and more, manufacturers are recognizing that people really do want color selection.

So while you won’t find quite the options available in neutral colors, you will be able to pick a player from between the leading manufacturers of home electronics. These aren’t just dollar store knock offs making these products. Companies that manufacture pink DVD players include:

Sony

Memorex

Polaroid

Philips

Curtis

Starlite

Nextplay

Fisher-Price (for kids’ models, of course)

So the options are certainly there. If you have a preferred electronics manufacturer, search specifically for products within their catalogue. Otherwise, compare reputable brands to find the DVD player in pink that best suits your style, needs, and budget. Then, simply enjoy your movies!

Maybe you’ve been browsing an electronics store with an especially wide selection. Or perhaps you’ve been looking through online product options (where the selection is even greater). Either way, the moment you see a pink DVD player, you are probably thinking one of two things: “Who on earth would want a pink DVD player?” or “A pink DVD player? It’s just what I’ve always wanted!”

So, in homage to the existing fans of pink appliances, and by way of explanation to those who tend toward solid black, here are the top five (fun) reasons to buy a pink DVD player.

It is pink. If you cannot get enough pink, then why not extend that to your electronics? Decorating a dorm room or child’s bedroom gets easier when your accessories match the color scheme. This fun color can lighten up any room.

It plays DVDs. Obviously. But who doesn’t like DVDs? So if you like the color and the function, what is stopping you?

It will make you smile. If you are particularly sensitive to feng shui, colors and tones, or general environmental design, then a pink DVD player will give you something to smile about when you walk into your room. Once you start buying pink electronics, you are creating a no-grouches-allowed environment.

It’s ironic. Yes, ironic. A pink DVD player? This could be a great gift for a guy who has a sense of humor (and happens to need a DVD player). It stands out from a goth décor in a particularly humorous manner. And even without surroundings to throw it into contrast, even on its own, a very bright colored pink DVD player is entertaining and ironic; it doesn’t need much help.

You are a child. Or, perhaps you are buying this for a child. Plenty of adults like pink, but it’s generally found more often in children’s appliances. This is a real reason to buy a pink portable DVD player for your daughter or niece. Or if you’re just a child a heart, then go for it. You only live once.
